PROMISE Maryland AGEP Fall Harvest Dinner: Fri. Nov. 22, 2013 – College Park (@UMDGradSchool)

Join us for the annual PROMISE Fall Harvest Dinner, 6:00 PM, Friday, November 22, 2013 at the Riggs Alumni Center on College Park’s Campus. This event is open to all graduate students, postdocs, faculty, and staff from any school within the University System of Maryland (http://www.usmd.edu/institutions/) who want to participate in, and support the mission of PROMISE AGEP: Maryland Transformation – “Diversity in STEM Education” – https://promiseagep.wordpress.com/2013/09/18/new-nsf-promise-agep-grant-funded-until-2017-includes-university-system-of-maryland-ccbc-aacc-and-agmus/

PROMISE AGEP: Maryland Transformation will engage the University System of Maryland in a system-wide focus on diversity in STEM graduate education, and will share resources and facilities to provide professional development for participants that might otherwise be limited or non-existent at some of the institutions without the alliance. This state-wide alliance eliminates the “silo-effect” or independent STEM diversity efforts, and it promotes as a core mission the collaboration to expand and connect a community of scholars through the state.

  2. Dear Fall Harvest dinner guests,

The dinner will take place in the Heise Ballroom to the right of the main entrance of the Samuel Riggs IV Alumni Center at the University of Maryland College Park.

Enclosed is a link to the Alumni Center map.

Here are driving directions to the Alumni Center (it does not have a physical address).
The best way to arrive is to take the beltway to the College Park exit, take Route 1 towards College Park. Take the right hand exit to 193 (University Blvd). Turn left on to Stadium Drive
Follow the roundabout and turn right towards the Performing Arts Center. The Stadium Parking Garage will be on your left and the Performing Arts Center on your right Continue until you arrive to Lot 1 or Lot Z.

Parking is free and does not require a permit after 4pm in Lots 1 and Lot Z
Disabled parking is located in between the Riggs Center and the Stadium Parking Garage
The Alumni Center is right next to the Stadium Garage and across the street from the Performing Arts Center.

See you all there on Friday November 22!!
